  1.  Drinking thy favoring glance, more rudely lash 
  2.  Their rocky bulwark?ΓÇöDo thy children trace 
  3.  Through crystal tube our coarser-featured orb 
  4.  Even as we gaze on thee?ΓÇöWith EuclidΓÇÖs art 
  5.  Perchance, from pole to pole, her sphere they span, 
  6.  Her sun-loved tropicsΓÇöand her spreading seas 
  7.  Rich with their myriad isles. Perchance they mark 
  8.  Where IndiaΓÇÖs cliffs the trembling cloud invade, 
  9.  Or Andes with his fiery banner flouts 
  10.  The empyrean,ΓÇöwhere old Atlas towers,ΓÇö 
  11.  Or that rough chain whence he of Carthage pourΓÇÖd 
  12.  Terrors on Rome.ΓÇöThou, too, perchance, hast nursed 
  13.  Some bold Copernicus, or fondly callΓÇÖd 
  14.  A Galileo forth, those sun-like souls 
  15.  Which shone in darkness, though our darkness failΓÇÖd
